The Youth Services Coordinator is an important public body that caters for Gozo especially Gozitan Youths, and has connections all over Europe. It is a hub for innovative European Youth Education. The learners who are associated with this setup are young people in Malta and Gozo with age range from 13 to 24. They are used to work in youth groups on fields of interest, new media and work directly with NGO’s. One main NGO which will be involved in this project is OASI - The OASI Foundation promises a commitment to assist people in their continuous life-long education to enhance their self awareness, mature growth and happy life, to accompany them in personal distress from desperation into hope and eventually to treat and lead those with the disease of addiction or alcoholism towards a recovery touched with a serene future. Drug education is important for Gozo and Malta and this connects the Maltese ideas directly with the European strategies. The areas of activities of youth services within the Ministry are: youth support, youth education courses and measures, new pedagogical approaches for youth, integration of youth work and youth education in policy, creating material and resources for youth, providing counsel and feedback to the educational system, to Europe and to youth workers, young people and youth organisations.

Comitato d'Intesa was created in 1977 from the initiative of 9 organisations that are still working for the social problems of the provincial area. Now it gathers 161 associations operating in many different sectors such as: youth policy, interculturality, sustainable development, social solidarity, assistance of persons with special needs and to support a healthy way of life. In order to organise better its activities and to permit a real exchange of information and experiences between all associations, those are divided into the following 7 thematic groups: youth, environment, health, disability, elderly, assistance, specific disease. The main reason for setting up this coordination body were to promote information, cooperation and exchange of resources; to have an unique reference point for all actions in the health, environmental and social fields; to fight more effectively against the segregation of disadvantaged groups and social excluded people; improving and deepening the dialogue among the participating associations; coordinating contacts with the public bodies, so as to promote dialogue and consensus around the most effective solutions to the local problems; to enforce new services and help communities, based on innovative projects.
